Family Gathering, Biking and Windsurfing in marvelous Engadin

First we had an Utzinger Family Gathering in Pontresina which was great fun. Friday evening we had a lovely dinner at restaurant Staziun.Temperature was so warm that we could sit outside for the apero and enjoy the mountainous surroundings. Saturday morning we used the swimming pools & the slide of the small water park which was directly accessible from our hotel Allegra. In the afternoon the  rope-park in Pontresina excited the younger and worried the older generation. The view from Muottas Muragl in the evening was breathtaking and the dinner simply delicious. On Sunday we visited the glacier mouth of the Morteratschglacier. Nature feels so special in this mountainous area. Wonderful! It has been a great time but everything comes to an end and on Monday the family departed.

On Monday Monika and I biked the Padella Panorama Tour which was very scenic and a special highlight on my birthday. After 1400m elevation gain and almost 50 km biking we met Philip & Ursi back in the hotel. Philip's birthday is the same as mine....that's most probably why we both like windsurfing and mountain biking...

Tuesday some good wind was predicted and we decided to windsurf on the lake of Silvaplana for the first time! Was a little overpowered. Wednesday was just perfect and I surfed up to Sils Maria and back to Silvaplana. Thursday we had for another hour good wind before some bad weather arrived. Water is realy cold with 13 degrees.....however, the steady wind and great scenery make Silvaplana a great windsurf-spot.

On Friday good stable weather was predicted and so we decided to go for a high altitude tour. The tour exceeded all our expectations. Very spectacular scenery and some of the best trail riding we have ever done. Only the carry-up of our bikes for 400 hm was a bit borderline.
